Career Planning Timeline
What to do and when to do it.
Class 8 & 9: Exploration
Focus on discovery, not decisions.
- Encourage participation in diverse extracurricular activities (coding, debate, art, sports).
- Observe what subjects they naturally gravitate towards.
- Introduce them to the concept of different careers using the Career Mosaic platform.
Class 10: Foundation & Choice
The first major academic crossroad.
- Take the Career Mosaic Psychometric Assessment.
- Discuss the results and align them with the three academic streams (Science/Commerce/Arts).
- Select the Class 11 stream based on aptitude and interest, NOT peer pressure.
Class 11: Deep Dive
Building the profile.
- Shortlist 3-4 specific career goals.
- Engage in minor projects or internships related to those fields (e.g., a school coding project, a business club).
- Begin researching target colleges and understanding their entrance exam requirements.
Class 12: Execution
Applications and exams.
- Register for standardized tests (JEE, NEET, CUET, CLAT, SAT, etc.).
- Track application deadlines using a calendar.
- Apply for scholarships and financial aid early.
- Finalize college selection based on acceptances.
